Stamp changed to seem less like I'm pitting the two games against each other as thats not my intention.
Spyro was a classic game to me when I was 6 years old and to see him change so much made me some what disapointed, but that's not to say I hate the new games, there just not Spyro anymore.
Also I don't find the new games particuly fun, game play wise it's repetive, I miss the exploring but these are just personal preferences. Like I said Legend of Spyro isn't bad, but to me it's not amazing and just didn't pull me in like Spyro 1 2 and 3.
Now those who like the new Spyro please don't hate me, I'm not saying "BAN THE NEW SPYRO LOLOLOLOL" not at all, it's just not my cup of tea (which is weird because you'd think it would be...) but if you like the new Spyro then carrys on playing it, I an't stoppin yeah. Heck you may even like the classic Spyro your self and like the new ones to XD
This stamp was just made to show that I loved the classic games and Spyro's new persona can never the replace the classic Spyro's in my gaming heart. XD
I miss the exploring too and funny dialogue. To me personally they should have stop making Spyro after Hero's Tale. He's not the same anymore, and lost my interest in him in LoS bc of his different personakity. Like the third game of the series, but I still couldn't call it "fun". Don't get me started on Skylanders -_-
I grew up with the original three and they are definitely still some of my favorite games ever. <3 As for my opinion of the newer games: TLoS was kinda fun but repetitive; I mostly liked DotD because of the music and because you could fly. Skylanders is good too, but doesn't feel like Spyro. I still like it though.
<----- as you can see im a fan of the newer one but i am not angry with you at all! especialy because i started with the newer ones and therefore I have no "nostalgia"-effekt (as you would call it). the very first one have been bought by my brother, it was "enter the dragonfly". (it´s the 4th i guess). after that i bought "eternal night" (not a new beginning) and i loved the cartoony style and the athmosphere even if i didnt realy cared about the story. also i liked the gameplay of leveling up the elements. (even if earth was a bit too strong with the time-shift). i started with "eternal night" because it was too late for " a new beginning" (i didnt find it anymore in any store). after that i bought " dawn to the dragon" (i was very surprised why the developers changed) and was faced with a totally new style and athmosphere. from the very first second i played it with a friend and the multiplayer was sooo hilarious but sadly the game changed more into a action-adventure instead of staying to the platformer-adventure as it was before. still we played it till the end and it was fun the whole time! then after that i was very surprised that spyro´s new game (with his name in it) wasnt realy HIS game. he was just one character out of many and got such a ugly appereance! he looked more like a little pest now then the old courageous and energetic spyro (he was a bit like me!). but according to the game itself there would never have been a place for a deep character. so the new spyro had to be one of those "i just use skills and look cool" ones, like in beat em up games! and thats what it was! no platformer nor adventure. no! a "hack and slay"-like game was the skylander game. (i didnt bought it by the way. i would never have payed 60 euros!!). just by the two facts that the new game just had spyro´s name in it ,with him as one character out of many, to attract fans and that the gameplay totally changed speaked for itself. spyro was something totally new now. i dont know why people who had once such a great idea didnt continued their work. could it be lazyness? or lustless? or did this people just changed into very avariced people who just wanted to make money? in any of this cases, the result is as clear as it allways is: the game lost it´s hearth! i wondered also what happened to such nice games like crash bandicoot or jax&daxter....
but still there are people who didnt changed their great work after many years! mostly the people from nintendo who allways continue dooing nice zelda and mario games! no one of them ever disappointed me! it is just one thing that make us players feel wen a game wents bad: if it lost it´s hearth! also the people which have done the gothic-series (now risen) still do nice games. or the people from square enix, who allways continue dooing nice rpgs, like "final fantasy:crystal cronicals" -series etc..! i just wanted you to know that there ARE people who never changed in the last 10 years and there will ever be some of them! also it seems a bit that the mmorpg-hype lost it power over the last two years, maybe people start playing more offline now and with friend next to them instead of mutliple people from the whole world just wanting them to show how good and important they are (two of very unimportant things...) ... the main sense of playing is having fun because you just spend time in it because of that. if the reason why you play reffers more to your egoism and to your hunger of attention then it isnt a game anymore at all. then it is a competition of bad character traits! that´s just the things which came to my mind when i read this.....
stupid activision stupidly selling off spyro and changing him. this would never have happened if it weren't for that last line in the spyro and cynder game(forgot the name) they never would have...
I still have the first one on that stamp for PS1. Oh the old days of bad graphics and horrible controls. Who cares though. It was fun and it was probably just as fun as the old Crash Bandicoots. God I love those old things. *goes to play them on my PS3 but is not even sure they will work* x'3 Anyway, love this stamp, love the memories it brings to me. Thank you for this stamp. *clicks fave button* C:
